The Taj View Hotel only really had one very positive attribute, which was that we really could see the Taj Mahal from the bedroom. Just. Through the smog, The Taj Mahal was visible, peaking out from behind some rather less attractive buildings. While the Taj Mahal is quite a long distance away and the air-quality poor enough to restrict vision a little, it is still very pleasant to see this magical sight from the bedroom, although of course it is not visible from all rooms.
All other facilities at the hotel were adequate rather than outstanding, but then the reason to come to Agra are to see the wonderful Taj Mahal, Agra Fort etc. The bedroom was clean and comfortable, but fairly uninspiring in style. Similarly the restaurant, grounds and other areas were lacking character and the food in the restaurant was nothing special. There is however an outdoor pool and a gym, spa and sauna. The hotel is reasonably central for access to all of the attraction.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay in Agra and although the Taj View was a little disappointing it certainly wasn't a bad hotel. It just doesn't quite live up to the name.

The Taj View is not very close to the Taj Mahal, but it is easily accessible via electric coach and the hotel is close to central Agra and the other attractions near Agra. The railway station is a short taxi ride away.
