Description: Located in the Adelaide suburb of Wayville, The Royal Adelaide Show is an annual event which runs for nine days from the first Friday in September. It began in the 19th century as a livestock and agricultural produce show which expanded over the years to include fair rides, cookery, display stalls and entertainment including fireworks, dance, gymnastics, fashion shows and stunt displays. Visitors can take part in activities such as cake decorating, avocado tastings, wine tastings and chocolate competitions.

A popular aspect of the show today are the Showbags. They started life as a free sample bag given to the show visitors. They are now sold in the Showbag Pavilion and vary in price according to the contents and the company providing them. Food is available at the show ranging from gourmet to hotdogs and waffles.

Entry fees apply and start at about $11 for a child's ticket.
