Marina Mall

Marina Mall is the second largest shopping mall in Abu Dhabi and the fifth largest in the UAE. Located at the end of the Corniche, close to the city centre, it houses over 160 shops, a supermarket, a cinema and a large food court. Many luxury brands as well as household names can be found here. The mall is currently being extended, with new attractions being added including a tower with a revolving restaurant. A taxi stand is just outside the mall.

Summer in Abu Dhabi is a new festival, launched in 2008 and taking place over 8 weeks, from mid June to mid August. It is based at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, and is spread over seven themed 'islands' - Action, Adventure, Creativity, Discovery, Fun, Heritage & Culture and Imagination Islands, each offering a range of activities and shows aimed at kids from the ages of 4 to 16.

Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

Abu Dhabi joins the Formula One circuit from 2009, with the first Formula One Etihad Airways Grand Prix scheduled to take place in November. The new track is currently being constructed on Yas Island, to the east of the city centre near the airport, and is expected to see top speeds over 320 km / h and average speeds of 200 km / h. Abu Dhabi is confirmed as a Formula One venue for at least seven years from 2009, so the track will see the Grand Prix through to at least 2015.
