The hotel is situated close to the main rail station and ferry dock to the Shetland Islands. It is therefore very handy for transients, especially as hotel rooms are hard to come by in Aberdeen. The area brings with it, though, a typical sleaziness which the hotel warns about in its "tongue-in-cheek" guide.
The reviewer found the receptionist "friendly and was pleased he'd been given a "new" room following some renovation. However it was "small" and decorated in "rather boring" red and yellow. Traffic noise was also a problem. It has no restaurant and although the reviewer did not mention breakfast in the text he awarded it only 2.5/10. Room and value scored 3 and service 6.
The review finishes with some questions and answers about specific facilities.
