[22/03/2010] During a lull in the recent National Trumpet Competition my girlfriend, my son and I took a drive down into Washington D.C. from Fairfax, Virginia to see some of the many memorials located in the capitol. [22/03/2010] I am just back from a journey to the Nations Capitol, Washington D.C. The occasion of this journey was the National Trumpet Competition of which my son was a participant. [25/08/2009] There is an old saying about saving "the best for last". Although not by design this turned out to be the case on our recent road trip to Ohio. Our return route was going to be the "northern route" and was taking us through Omaha, Nebraska for our final night out on the road. We spent it at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Suites Cherry Hills. It is just off Interstate 680, which is the bypass around the center of Omaha.
